Meanwhile, Ollie is trapped in the world behind the mist, learning the horrifying secrets of the smiling man's carnival, trying everything to help her friends find her. Brian, Coco and Phil will risk everything to rescue Ollie—but they all soon realize this game is much more dangerous than the ones before. This time the smiling man is playing for keeps.
The summer nights are short, and Ollie, Coco, Brian, and Phil have only until sunrise to beat him once and for all—or it’s game over for everyone.

Meiner Meinung nach der beste Teil der Reihe. Wie die Vorgänger wieder eine perfekte Herbstlektüre, vor allem für die Zeit um Halloween. Die Figuren sind wie immer zum Liebhaben - man kann nicht anders, als sie so zu mögen, wie sie sind. Erstaunlich, wie sehr sie alle gewachsen sind! Das Ende kam etwas überraschend und schnell, ist Arden aber sehr gut geglückt. Auch wenn dieser Teil als Abschluss gilt, könnte man sich eigentlich gut vorstellen, dass man von diesem Punkt aus doch noch weitermachen könnte. Aber wie immer bin ich selbstverständlich der Meinung, dass man aufhören sollte, solange es noch gut ist und eine Reihe nicht zu Tode schreiben sollte. Also ein überaus gelungener Abschluss. Achtung: wer an Coulrophobie leidet, sollte einen grossen Bogen um dieses Buch machen. Kinderbuch hin oder her. Zum Glück spricht das Cover für sich. Dennoch möchte ich dies hier noch einmal erwähnt haben.
