Emergency Skin (Forward collection)

Even though I have one more story to go, I believe this will remain my favourite of the collection. It had me hooked throughout. Bonus points for having Jason Isaacs do the audible version.

What happens to earth if a couple of rich powerful people leave it behind to build another society, far better than the current one? Because it is way easier that build up something new instead of fix a broken thing? N. K. Jemisin took the premise and made it into something very special. I love the style of the story, written in second person and the open end. Again, as it happend now for a third time in the forward collection, I wanted a whole novel about it! I am very in love with all of the stories and I have to read more by N. K. Jemisin soon. If all her work is like that I will have a new favourite author.
