Jarvis' Loyalität gilt Prinz George, der Monarchie und England. Jarvis ist kein Fan von Sebastian, erkennt aber seine hervorragenden Ermittlungsfähigkeiten an. Sebastian ist entschlossen, den Mörder zu finden, aber er ist mehr daran interessiert, warum Lady Anglessey im Besitz der Halskette ist. Es ist dieselbe Halskette, an die sich Sebastian deutlich an seine Mutter an dem Tag erinnert, als ihr Schiff auf See unterging. Kat Boleyn ist nun Sebastians Geliebte. Tom, der junge Straßenjunge, der Sebastian im ersten Buch geholfen hat, hat die Position als Devlins Tiger inne. Beide sind eifrig dabei, Sebastian dabei zu helfen, durch die politischen Intrigen zu waten, um die Hinweise auf beide Geheimnisse zu finden. Ein toller historischer Krimi, der im 19. Jahrhundert spielt.. Das Cover passt super dazu. Die Kapitel sind sehr schön gestaltet und nicht zu lang. Der Schreibstil ist sehr flüssig und man kann sich die Handlung bildlich vorstellen. Ich wollte das Buch gar nicht wegen legen, weil ich immer wissen wollte wie es weiter geht. Bei jedem Lösungsversuch habe ich gedacht, ja der ist es, dann kam es doch anders, was die Handlung sehr spannend macht. Ich kann das Buch nur jedem empfehlen der auf historische Krimis steht. Sebastian is determined to find the murderer, but he is more interested in why Lady Anglessey is in possession of the necklace. It is the same necklace that Sebastian clearly remembers his mother wearing the day their ship sank at sea. Kat Boleyn is now Sebastian's mistress. Tom, the young street urchin who helped Sebastian in the first book, holds the position as Devlin's tiger. Both are eager to help Sebastian wade through the political intrigue to find the clues to both mysteries. A great historical crime novel set in the 19th century.... The cover is a great match. The chapters are very nicely laid out and not too long. The writing style is very fluent and you can imagine the plot. I didn't want to put the book down because I always wanted to know what would happen next. Every time I tried to find a solution, I thought, yes, that's the one, but then it turned out differently, which makes the plot very exciting. I can only recommend this book to anyone who likes historical thrillers.
