Description

Class reunions: a time for memories—good, bad, and, as Virgil Flowers is about to find out, deadly—in this New York Times bestselling thriller from John Sandford.

Virgil knows the town of Trippton, Minnesota, a little too well. A few years back, he investigated the corrupt—and as it turned out, homicidal—local school board, and now the town’s back in view with more alarming news: A woman’s been found dead, frozen in a block of ice. There’s a possibility that it might be connected to a high school class of twenty years ago that has a mid-winter reunion coming up, and so, wrapping his coat a little tighter, Virgil begins to dig into twenty years’ worth of traumas, feuds, and bad blood. In the process, one thing becomes increasingly clear to him. It’s true what they say: High school is murder.

From Goodreads I see this is book 10 in a series that I have never heard of. I am going to start here, because this is the book I have. This is my live review as I read the book. Chapter 1 An oversized bachelor's television is something everyone needs. The man with the tv thinks about a girl he's been in love with since his school days. The girl attempts life after college. The word salubrious is used. The man and the now woman he has loved are part of a group planning a high school reunion. After the group meeting, the woman expresses her displeasure as the man makes advances. Phrases such as, "You're disgusting," are used, and she ends up dying. Chapter 2 A man with weird eyes. This is a book for leisurely reading. Because it's the 10th in the series, the author can do whatever he wants. He already knows you like it. So there is unnecessary description of non-important characters, written with humor, but it's still extra reading. I don't think this is the book for me. The End
