This was my first book from Susanna Kearsley and I will for sure read her other books as well now! I loved the story. Not only is it set in Scotland (the country of my heart) but it contains everything I love reading about: history, a form of time traveling, genealogy, love and some drama. The book is extremely well written and it was super easy to fall into the story with our 4 main characters. Also, as a historian myself, I'd like to point out what an amazing job Susanna did by webbing the actual history of the 1708 Jacobite rising into her book. Many of her characters were real people in the history of Scotland, so make sure you read the "About the Characters" part at the end of the book! I absolutely loved it and it's a very clear 5/5 for me!
