Der Abschluss der 10-teiligen Midnight Breed Reihe. Insgesamt handelt es sich um etwas bessere Groschenromane, was aber nicht despektierlich gemeint ist. Es geht mit einfach gehaltener Erzählsweise um die unsterbliche Liebe zwischen Vampiren (die Außerirdische sind) und ihren Stammesgefährtinnen (Menschen), während ein böser Obervampir die Welt unterjochen will. "Der Orden" (die semiguten Vampire) will das verhindern und so kloppen sie sich ein bisschen. Es gibt explizite Sexszenen und noch explizitere Gewalt, die mitunter schon ziemlich hart ist. Nervig sind diese "heile Welt des Ordens und alle Frauen sind toll und haben sich lieb" oder die ewigen "Sie/Er verdient mich nicht"-Passagen. Story an sich ist aber ganz gut gemacht. In diesem Band hatte ich das Gefühl, dass die Autorin am Ende den Schluss der Story dringend auf den letzten 20 Seiten zusammenquetschen musste - abrupt und für 10 Bände doch enttäuschend. Wer auf Vampire steht, bei denen es etwas härter zur Sache geht, darf sich den ersten Band gönnen - alle weiteren laufen ähnlich ab.
