I really like Matt Murdock/Daredevil, I liked him in the Netflix show and I liked him in the other Daredevil Vol 1 by Mark Waid I read the reason I haven't read more about him was that I found that first volume to be quite confusing. Fortunately I know read this volume and realised I probably should have started here from the beginning. I really enjoyed how much fun this volume was even though Matt gets in a lot of trouble and the story takes a really interesting turn at the end. I also liked this whole thing about where everyone suspects Matt is Daredevil but they can't prove it. The only things I did not like was that I didn't care for some of the smaller villains and the art felt a bit inconsistent.
It's been a while since Daredevil comics have been this good - especially after the disappointing Shadowland storyline. Enter a fresh creative team with writer pro Mark Waid and a superb retro look thanks to artist Paolo Rivera. They gave DD new lighthearted adventures with lots of twists and a conclusion that sets up the next volume. What really convinced me is the character work. I can say that there are really few comic books written this good on a monthly basis. Awards proved that, too. I can recommend this to anyone wanting to get to know Daredevil comics. It's an easy-to-jump-on point.
