This was really beautiful! The found family at Gertie's, the enby rep (of course), Jameson's way of discovering what he wants and who he is, the healing of making new memories at hurtful places, there were so many sweet and meaningful moments. And this epilogue was perfection! The only thing keeping me from rating it higher is the pace, because I even paused the book for days because I wasn't as invested as I know from other books by Emmy.
Ha, Bo, I really didn't think I would enjoy reading about your relationship so much (especially after the book before, haha!). But hey, Jamerson is the biggest Green Flag ever, so how can you not love him? I also loved how their relationship developed in a very stable way and how the drama wasn't centered around them; instead, it brought them closer together. I appreciate when problems aren't about the couple itself but act as external forces that cement their bond, which this book totally did. I also loved Jamerson's consideration regarding pronouns and how he addresses their intimate areas-yep, loved it. And the fact that he just flew to Texas to be with him ... that's exactly what I expect!
