Wegen des schönen Covers nahm ich das Buch zur Hand, durch die schöne Geschichte legte ich es nicht zur Seite. Aurora lernen wir als etwas hilflose Prinzessin kennen, die mit dem sehr mächtigen Prinzen Cassius verheiratet werden soll, dem sie direkt verfällt. Weil aber auch er Geheimnisse hat und sie nicht bereit ist, die Verantwortung für ein Volk zu übernehmen, flieht sie aus dem Palast und zu den Sturmjägern, wo sie auf Lock trifft. An diesem Punkt befürchtete ich eine Dreiecksbeziehung. Doch es kam ganz anders! Die Charaktere sind alle sehr authentisch und sympathisch. Jeder hat eine eigene Stimme, sodass man als Leser zu jeder Zeit gut mitkommt und die unterschiedlichen Attitüden sehr schön zur Geltung kommen. Durch Sichtwechsel geht die Geschichte über reines Liebesgeplänkel hinaus. Man erfährt viel zu der Welt, in der Aurora sich bewegt, zu der Gesellschaft, den Werten und Gepflogenheiten und den Problemen. Selbst die Antagonisten werden sehr interessant dargestellt. Grausam zwar, aber doch so, als wäre da mehr hinter ihrer "bösen Fassade". Die Idee hinter der Geschichte ist einfach nur faszinierend und absolut spannend. Und obwohl sie neu ist, habe ich keine Sekunde an ihr gezweifelt. Die Autorin beschreibt alles und jeden so raffiniert, dass das Buch durch und durch authentisch ist. Ich freue mich schon sehr auf Band 2, darauf zu erfahren, wie die Geschichte weitergeht und was genau hinter Cassius und Lock steckt. Ein spannender Auftakt, an dem es nichts auszusetzen gibt. 5 von 5 Sternen.
