Description

Zara and her friends knew they hadn't solved the pixie problem for good. Far from it. The king's needs grow deeper every day he's stuck in captivity, while his control over his people gets weaker. It's made him vulnerable. And now there's a new king in town.

A turf war is imminent, since the new pixie king, Astley, is moving in quickly. Nick nearly killed him in the woods on day one, but Zara came to his rescue. Astley swears that he and Zara are destined to be together, that he's one of the good guys. Nick isn't buying it, though Zara isn't as sure -- despite herself, she wants to trust the new king. But it's a lot more than her relationship with Nick that is at stake. It's her life -- and his.

Terrible. Need wasn't much better, but I managed to get through it more easily at least. The author clearly was just on the paranormal/fantasy bandwagon because this wasn't a genuine effort at all. The relationships were dull and contrived, the scenes and storylines were so choppy, and worst of all the main character was so annoying (which for a book written in first person is pretty damn unforgivable). There wasn't one redeemable quality in this book. Plus the Amnesty International mentions (which was also a factor in the first book) always came out of no where and felt like they were commercials instead of legitimate plot points. I can only imagine these were inserted to appease the author's conscience for cashing in on such trash. I won't be reading any more of this series, or by this author again.
