Promising writing but lackluster plot
This book is one of the best explorations of childhood rooted friendship I’ve ever read. Personally I’d have even preferred it without the major plot point. Which is also why it’s only a three star read in total for me. The writing is great and the characters are full fledged and the topic of friendship in itself is so interesting. The main plot therefore to me just kinda tainted the entire experience, but especially the ending (a supposed happy one) just really disappointed me personally. I know this book will work wonderfully for others though, and I am excited to read more from this author
