Ein sehr langes, aber wunderbares Buch. Ein Plädoyer für die freie Marktwirtschaft, dass aufzeigt, was passieren kann, wenn der Staat zu stark eingreift. Ich weiß nicht, ob ich mit der Philosophie von Ayan Rand vollkommen übereinstimme. Soweit ich es verstanden habe, ist sie gegen irgendeine Intervention der Regierung in die Wirtschaft, also gegen ein Sozialstaat. Es wird aber immer Menschen geben, die wirklich Hilfe benötigen. Soll man sie einfach verhungern lassen?... Der Mittelweg ist schwierig, weil es auch immer Menschen geben wird, die eine staatliche soziale Hilfe ausnutzen werden. Diese ganzen philosophischen Gedanken sind in einer langsam fortschreitenden Geschichte eingebettet, die mir auch sehr gut gefallen hat. An den Satz "Who is John Galt" werde ich mich wohl immer erinnern.
