"Why isn't the wind happy, Mummy?" "Because it is remembering all the sorrow of the world since time began," answered Anne. Before reading the last book of Anne Shirleys story, I thought that I would feel empty - her story is over now, her lovely springful spirit is gone. And now, after finishing "Anne of Ingleside" I recognized how much Anne Shirley has grown troughout the whole series. This book isn't about Anne and all her love in women and dreaming poetry anymore, it is about Anne as a mother. The story deals with her children and their little adventeurs. Maybe they seem unimportant, but they aren't for the little Blythes. Seeing how much little lonely orphan Anne Shirley is loved by her own heartwarming family about twenty years after coming to Green Gabels as her first ever home makes it able for me to leave her. Gilbert and Anne are and always will be the keepers of the key to my heart.
