Ein Buch, wo ich währenddessen mal wieder gar nichts verstanden hatte und ebenso wenig das Ende. Ich wusste gar nicht, was ich von dem ganzen halten soll. Nachdem ich mir dann ein paar Analysen durchgelesen hatte sowie Erklärungen, konnte ich mir dann eine Meinung machen - und fand es toll! Mona Awad schafft es mal wieder Wahnsinn und Realität verschwimmen zu lassen, einen wahren Fiebertraum zu inszenieren sowie viele Parallelen zu Shakespeare und Faust zu ziehen. Nach Bunny ihr gelungenstes Werk wie ich finde.
Brillant, einlullend, bezaubernd und wie immer ein Traum
Wo Bunny dem zuckerwatteartigen Zustand nach zu viel Süßigkeiten und Rouge dem nach rotem Wein und Kirschen an der Küste gleicht, so hält All‘s Well die Manie des Theaters fest. Das Gefühl, wenn eine Produktion größer wird als die Welt, wenn sich aus Textbuchseiten ein Monstrum schält, welches alles verschlingt, was nicht zur perfekten Aufführung führt. Man wird in die Handlung gerissen, gepackt und nicht losgelassen. Abgesehen von dem originellen Awad-Charme beleuchtet dieses Buch das Leben von Frauen, wie weiblicher Schmerz behandelt wird und welche unmenschlichen Erwartungen an jene gestellt werden, die vergeblich Hilfe suchen. Wo ist Schmerz noch romantisierbar? Was geschieht mit denen, die diese Grenze überschreiten? Ich bin Mona Awad sowieso bedingungslos ergeben, weshalb meine Begeisterung vorprogrammiert war.
