A girl is taken from the streets of Oxford. But it's unlike any abduction DI Fawley's seen before . . .

Faith Appleford was attacked, a plastic bag tied over her head, taken to an isolated location . . . and then, by some miracle, she escaped.

What's more, when DC Erica Somer interviews Faith, she quickly becomes convinced that Faith knows who her abductor is. Yet Faith refuses to press charges. Without more evidence, it's looking like the police may have to drop the case.

But what happens if Faith's attacker strikes again?

The fourth twisty, up-all-night thriller from the Sunday Times bestselling Cara Hunter. For fans of Shari Lapena, Claire Douglas and Lisa Jewell.

I didn't see that coming! No spoiler here. To admit the first 30 to 50 pages were giving me a hard time to catch up. So many people, so many names. I had to take notes who is who. Seriously. But when I came to "oh I have to talk to Mr. X" I was like "who was it again? Never heard. Did I miss something here?" that's why the notes. But to honest, I'm not a native English speaker so it might due to that. When I had my notes and when I caught up the story, I couldn't put the book down. What I love about Cara is that she gives a feeling that you, the reader, has to solve the case. And that was my point: no spoiler, but I am definitely no DI, I couldn't have made it. There are so many twists, so many ahs and ohs, it's really hard to put it down. I love the DI Fawley series and I thought it can't get better until I read the next book. Damn, Cara. What a good job.

Amazing book. A young woman is abducted, a plastic bag over her head, her hands tied. But before the kidnapper gets the chance to do more harm, he is distracted, and she manages to escape. But she doesn't want to press charges. Still, Adam Fawley and his team start to investigate. A few days later, a girl disappears not far from there - and Fawley doesn't believe in coincidences. But there is something more... I was so concerned about Adam (and his wife Alex) for most of the book. Always thinking "no, no, please, no". This case became more personal than the previous ones, and the book was absolutely gripping. Could not put it down. If you haven't started on this series yet, what are you waiting for? I love the mixed media approach with social media posts, interrogation protocols, court records, etc., and the different POVs.
