Thoroughly enjoyed this. It's said to be Wilde's weakest play, I disagree. I loved it. The dialogues and epigrams convey strong emotions, tragedy, sorrow. Elements of comedy are woven in between as well though. Now I've learned never to take the titles for what they seem to be. So when I read "A Woman Of No Importance" I knew I would get surprised with a twist. The first act is a little boring, since it serves only to introduce all the characters and their points of view on life and morals, etc. But after that it picks up the pace and delivers. This time we actually do get a happy ending, unlike in Lady Winderemere's Fan. So I can say I was never as satisfied with an ending to a play, as with A Woman Of No Importance. The final act was an emotional rollercoaster for me... I definitely did not expect a play from 1893 ( SOAK IT IN! 1893!!) to be THAT modern. My heart goes out to Oscar Wilde for writing this. My expectations were surpassed.
