The second book of this series focused a lot more on political aspects than the last one, which made it more intriguing. However, for some reason, I wasn't able to connect well with the story. It was interesting enough, but maybe 700 pages were a few too much. Of course it ends with a cliffhanger (note to self: don't read the summary of books to come in a series, there might be spoilers) which makes you want to dive right into the next book. I like that Kat grew more self confident throughout the story. She has been set up to be a confident character from the beginning but hasn't acted that way so far. I only struggle to understand her fear of her uncle since she's grown much stronger than him.
