Einzelne Essays sind lustig, geistreich, eben Pratchett. Doch einige springen ohne Überleitung von Thema zu Thema, ohne, dass man einen Sinn erkennt, und viele wiederholen sich einfach. Schnell wird es schlicht langweilig. So, wie sie damals ersterschienen sind, verteilt über mehr als 20 Jahre, sind sie besser aufgehoben, als hier in einem Buch am Stück. Noch besser wäre es, bei Neuauflagen der Romane als ‚Bonus‘ je einen Essay zu bringen. In kleinen Dosen stell ich sie mir wirklich gut vor.
