7/10 Not a favourite but a good book in all. I liked the Widdershins sisters and found them very respectable and realistic (I have two younger sisters). The overall book was great as were many elements but many elements weren't so good. It took me six months to finally read this book as it never really interested me and still doesn't so I won't be continuing the Widdershins sisters adventures.
This was really fun and creatice, the family dynamics were great, I liked all of the sisters and how they interacted and especially the little glimpses we got into the past really appealed to me. I think this is a book that can be enjoyed by readers of all ages and it never oversimplifies or sugarcoats things for the younger readers this is made for. I will give this a big recommendation before naming my negatives, because it deserves it. I will start with the minor thing first: Whenever things got more exciting or turbulent, I kind of zones out and I don't know if it's the writing or just me. Also, I didn't really feel like picking the book back up again even though I enjoyed it when I did. The thing that actually brought it down to 3 stars was the ending. There is so much build-up, but then everything is resolved much too quickly. The way they solved it should have been its own book, however how fast and easily the much too happy ending came down was extremely dissapointing.
