Horst Schenke ermittelt in Schattenmacht wieder im verdunkelten Berlin von 1940. Nicht nur buchstäblich verdunkelt zur Abwehr von feindlichen Bombern, sondern auch die Atmosphäre und das Leben haben sich verdüstert. Horst jagt weiterhin die Fälscher von Lebensmittelmarken, die die ohnehin knappen Ressourcen noch schwerer zu bekommen machen. Außerdem halten ihn mehrere Morde im Bandenmilieu auf Trab. Ein persönliches Zusammentreffen mit Hitler und der Parteispitze stellen Horst vor die Wahl, ob er zum Mitläufer und Mittäter wird oder seiner Überzeugung und Liebe zur Jüdin Ruth treu bleibt. Simon Scarrow ist begnadet darin die Atmosphäre seiner Bücher unnachahmlich gut zu kreieren. Die Dunkelheit und Beklemmung, sowie die sich ausbreitende Furcht und der aufkommende Wahn der Nazionalsozialisten werden sehr mitreißend dargestellt. Die Ermittlung ist super spannend und man weiß wirklich bis kurz vor Ende nicht, wer wen warum ermordet hat und wie sich Horst aus den Fängen eines Berliner Gangsterbosses befreien soll. Die Reihe ist eine absolute Empfehlung und ich freue mich schon sehr auf Teil 4!
