WHY CAN'T THIS MAN QUIT HIS STEAK IF HE'S THAT OBSESSED WITH HER?

I'm afraid I'm starting this review like every Ana Huang review since King of Pride: It's just not the same anymore. At the same time, I couldn't walk away from Ana even if I tried: My relationship with the Ana-verse is simply too nostalgic and addictive at this point. Especially Xavier's constant presence throughout the whole book gave me some sort of comfort. Plot-wise, it was okay-good: I enjoyed the insights into pulling off the super-duper important launch together with your biggest rival (<forced proximityyyy), their constant bickering, and of course the inevitable lore that comes with growing up together. The first 50% felt a little bit too long, though we might totally blame this on my slow reading pace. (Snacking it away in 2-4 days would have been totally possible and had made me enjoy it even more). On the other hand I liked the +1 year time-span the story took place over. Last but not least we have to face my Sebastian-ick together: Maya is vegetarian (awesome! Fewer dead bodies floating around), so he cooks her pasta on their first date — but also steak for himself... So: WHY CAN'T THIS MAN QUIT HIS STEAK IF HE'S THAT OBSESSED WITH HER?
