I picked this up and honestly tought it would be some enjoyable smut KU trash book, friends…. Well it was so not😅 still confused how surprisingly good written this book was! I liked the idea, altough I‘m unsure if dark romance is my genre. I mean, it was so deep, emotionally abusing almost, had some nice quotes and to be honest…. this guy is fucking next level, what the hell, why is he so hot, what‘s going on. But all the kink stuff… it was weird. And the fact that he stalked her… not sure. But okay. Brilliant tho that until the showdown nobody knew how deeply obsessed Dom actually was with her. I actually really liked the dark mistery setting. I was always asking myself if he‘s just a fucking creep or maybe only hopelessly romantic. I mean, I‘m still not sure. But I‘m getting the feeling that this is the whole point of dark romance😅 no boundries just pure obsession. Sadly the second book was such a weird mess, I constantly asked myself if the same auther wrote it. And it only confirmed what I did not like about Zoe all along - She was whinning and making constantly excuses for her incredible stupidity for about 300 pages… at some point I was convinced I couldn‘t take it anymore. I actually liked th premise of their soul wrecking pasts and traumas. They were both searching healing in one another. Nice. But the main „problem“ why Dom would not persue her from the beginning of their acquaintance is because her brother is overly protective?!?! Like wtf people. The woman is 25 years old, cut the crap, that‘s ridiculous. And that would be the reason for her to not believe him, when he says that he is serious with her…. Because he doesn‘t want to hurt her brother…. Right, it does make zero sense! Apart from that the first book was fun!
