This is the first book in a while that I didn't really enjoy reading. I know a lot of others loved it but I still want to share my views on it. The story itself was nice enough, although a bit wild at some points (every catastrophic moment of the last 400+ years coming down to one person for example). The dialogues felt too flat for me and the overall story was rushed way too much. Give it another 200 pages and this might have been a really good book! Especially the end left me a bit disappointed. The way to the final countdown has build up over 380 or so pages and then the showdown is finished in one little chapter. I'll give it 2 stars because a) I did finish it and b) I do see a good storyline here. Unfortunately, it wasn't written in a way that let me enjoy that story. Still, as the reviews here and on Amazon show, a lot of people seem to like it so there must be something to it that I just didn't see.
