Isaac x Lane Stepbrother Romance

I've read the first (standalone) volume of this series a while ago, and really liked it. The second one wasn't as good, but still really nice. Also, more of a cute/cozy story, or rather dynamic, despite the topic of "forbidden love." Isaac's and Lane's parents remarry when they are in their teens. They become best friends, but for Isaac, it's more than that. He never says anything because he doesn't think it would amount to anything and only hurt his family, who he loves dearly. Now they are both 30, and Isaac distanced himself a bit, but when Lane visits home with a partner, Isaac can't mask his jealousy... The story starts with chapters from their teenage years (14, 16, 18), which was really interesting and showed their dynamic and Isaac's grief over his dead mom, which was generally handled well (just what about Lanes dad? He is also dead, but it isn't really talked about). Then, after the beginning, when they (rather quickly) get together (obviously), not that much happens. Of course, there is the problem of telling their parents, but in-between, we just see them being a cute couple (and some spicy scenes ofc). The couple from volume 1 also shows up (one scene already appeared there and we see it from Isaac's perspective now). I did really like their dynamic, the way they just get each other, and fit perfectly, even if they are very different. Their relationship felt like a safe space, and I loved the scenes with Lane (who is an artist) drawing/painting Isaac ❤️ The ending was also just right, and I loved the talk about how people can be different things to different people, and how we love in different ways 🥹 I just have two things to criticize. One being that it has the same "show don't tell" issue as the first one, but it got better and didn't really bother me. The second is not about the story or anything, but I have to mention it because it's just false information. So, one of the characters is described as pansexual. He says that he is "bi, or rather pan," and then brings up that he has slept with "women, men, trans women, and trans men", insinuating that the difference between bi and pan is the inclusion of trans people, which seems to be a common misconception, and is not true. Trans is not its own gender. Trans women are women, and trans men are men (and non binary people exist, but that isn't mentioned in the book). I don't want to write a long text about the difference between bi and pan, just that's not it, and it could have just said he doesn't care about the gender of his partners to be attracted to them. No need to make your character pan if you don't know how to describe that correctly. Well, overall, a nice book I enjoyed, just didn't get me overly excited.
