Gleichzeitig wird man auch wütend beim lesen, da man immer wieder damit konfrontiert wird, dass diese Belästigungen als Einzelfälle dargestellt werden und Frauen alleine gelassen werden. Es ist definitiv eine Achterbahn an Emotionen , die man beim lesen erlebt, Auf nur etwas über 200 Seiten führt Laura Bates die Realität von Frauen auf der ganzen Welt auf und spendet trotzdem Hoffnung, dass wir als Frauen nicht das Problem sind. In einer Welt in der wie tagtäglich Misstrauen aus gesetzten sind, ob uns tatsächlich Belästigungen wiederfahren sind, gibt das Buch Hoffnung.
It is a shocking and important book. Some of the stories that the author shares are so explicit that I couldn't believe that these are things women have experienced. The amount of sexual harassment women are exposed to is shocking and shockingly normal in our society. The author shows how the mistreatment of women is embedded in every possible part of society and how this is maintained by politics by not wanting to pay attention to these problems women have to face every single day. She also provides data for her arguments, and the data is, as is the entire book, shocking. Highly recommended, not only for people who identify as female, but also for white, upper-class heterosexual men in particular who are not aware of the misogyny that is reality and a threat for women all over the world.
