About the book

National Bestseller

Two women, one con man, and a European adventure fueled by friendship, heartbreak, and having nothing left to lose, from mega-bestselling UK author Alexandra Potter.

Maggie thinks she's finally found the love of her life. Theo is charming, passionate, and crazy about her. So when Theo mysteriously disappears, Maggie certainly doesn't expect that he's gone for good--let alone stolen her life savings, heart, and self-esteem.

Now she's living in a caravan in a muddy field in the middle of nowhere, left to pick up the pieces. When junior reporter Flick catches wind of the story, she decides that exposing the romance fraudster may be just the career break she needs.

The pair embark on the road trip of their lives--from the glitz and glamour of Monte Carlo to the souks of Tangier--where unexpected twists, hidden secrets, and hard truths are revealed. And, as an unlikely friendship begins to blossom, they realize it's not just about finding the guy, it's about finding themselves.

    So I Met This Guy…

This story truly was an adventure in more ways than I expected it to be going into it. An adventure through the most beautiful places in Europe, but also one through life, love and female friendships. Maggie and Flick were such a great pair and even though they couldn't have been more different, they found something that truly connects all women across the world in some way or another - the desire to bring bad men to their knees. Their character growth was so empowering and entertaining to watch. It was at times funny, inspirational and relatable. I formed a bond with them and yearned to join them for a sunset drink on the Almafi Coast. The storyline of catching a romance fraudster was something I've never seen done before in a book and it had so much potential. It made for a great edge-of-your-seat story and had some unexpected twists and turns I really liked. The only minor thing that kept me from rating it a perfect 5 star read was the pacing, because while it was perfectly balanced for most of the book, the ending felt a bit too slow and dragged out for me. Nonetheless, this book was a delight and I highly recommend it for everyone that is looking for a charming, relatable and empowering story about two women finding themselves and their power with the gorgeous european summertime as their backdrop. Huge thanks to Pan Macmillan for this early copy!
