I would give it 2.5 stars but rounding it up to 3. All the elements on their own were good. The characters, the idea, the world, the plot but it still didn't work for me that well. I missed exitment and it was a little unrealistic. The book has a lot of potential. Maybe if some scenes would have been longer and I would have more time to connect to the characters, I would have enjoyed it more. It is still an interesting stand alone and an easy read. Not bad but not breathtaking either.
