""Blue,” he warned, but his voice was chaotic. This close, his throat was scented with mint and wool sweater and vinyl car seat, and Gansey, just Gansey. She said, “I just want to pretend. I want to pretend that I could.”" This series is single handedly restoring my faith in YA. The pacing was perfect and every chapter ended on a cliffhanger. This book is unputdownable. And the writing is so poetic. I had to go back sometimes and re-read parts because I thought there was something between the lines. The magic is even more amazing and it's definitely more action-packed than the first two books. It seems Adam is the main character this time. The others had their chapters, but I feel as if he was in them a lot more. Still hardworking as ever, honorable, honest and proud. He's also spending more time with Ronan and I'm shipping these two so hard it's not even funny. Speaking of Ronan. This guy! You never know what to expect from him. He's unpredictable and wild, but at the same time extremely loyal to those he cares about. There is still so much we don't know about him! Blue's trying to find her missing mother and at the same time dealing with her feelings towards Gansey. She was determined throughout the book. I felt sorry for her because she had so much on her plate. And I'm crowning Piper as the queen of villains! The book was focused on character development, romance was pushed even further back. I am filled with love. And also excitement. And also immense fear and trepidation and maybe regret because the next one cannot be as good. No way no how.

Cave adventures

The third volume was a bit weird. The focus was more on Blue, which I liked, but otherwise, it felt like not that much was happening. The books are slow paced in general, but this one, although it was the shortest one, felt like there were more unnecessary scenes. I really liked the beginning and the end, everything about the caves. In the middle, there were important scenes for character development (especially Adam), and I enjoyed those, but it was all a bit random. I liked that they were all closer by the end, though, especially Ronan and Adam (excited to see what the next volume brings for them, as I already know some stuff). Other than that, I don't really know what else to say about this volume. It just wasn't as exciting as the second one to me. Still, there were some important and interesting things happening, and I am eager to read the last one.
