This is the extended annotated edition including a detailed biographical primer on the life and works of the author. This tale of adventure, for the most part in a strain of romantic comedy, belongs to the last two years of Stevenson's life. It tells of the adventures of a French Napoleonic soldier who got captured by British troops.
