Forbidden Hearts

There were a lot of tropes in this book that I loved. The small town vibes could've been a bit more developed, but I cannot wait to read more from this family. I also realized that the author has another series with characters from this town, which made me very excited to read them. However, one trope (which I won't spoil) was one I hated, and since it happened at 70% it wasn't really necessary imo. The fact that there was no third act break-up was only a bit of a consolation. Another thing that made me roll my eyes multiple times was the banter. Which it worked well in some scenes, it realllyyy didn't in others. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time with this book!

This book was a fun nanny romance, that gave everything I need this trope to give. Phoebe becomes a nanny for this week deaf girl and slowly starts falling for her grumpy asshole dad, who’s also a cop. WE HAVE OUR SEXY AGE GAP. The problem besides the entire employee-boss thing? Her dad is his boss. To sum it up: nanny romance, forbidden romance, age gap, small town, spicy spice. Sounds good to you? It is good! This was a clear four star read for me, that I just ate up. Read this entire book in a few hours because I was captivated. Until a plot turn that destroyed the entire book for me. I lost all interest and excitement for the story, but I want to stress that this was not really because the book became bad. It’s just that I whole heartily dislike this trope so it was a no for me. DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL FEEL THE SAME ABOUT IT. I am not a fan and personally would have preferred everything from the 80% mark to be different; but it’s still written well! So a me-problem not the books. There was also another plottwist, that was just ridiculous and far fetched for me personally. But if we extract those personal preferences, i highly enjoyed this read! I would recommend it to all my nanny romance lovers. Maybe read the following though, because I know many feel the same as me about this certain thing so… SPOILER: there’s a surprise pregnancy. Will definitely check out other books by the author tho, because I really enjoyed her writing, storytelling and characters. 3
