Tropes: – strangers to friends to lovers – wallflower (unpopular, invisible girl) x popular boy – study group – forced proximity – she has a crush on his buddy – hockey romance – college romance – addictive read

I stumbled across this book because someone on TikTok compared it to The Deal by Elle Kennedy, something like ‘this book is for fans of The Deal‘. And yes, mostly I would agree. Though the Deal is better, and Hannah is the better protagonist in my opinion. But with that in mind I‘ve had a lot of fun reading this book, and I think it is surprisingly addictive and captivating. Jordan is definitely bookboyfriend material – I‘ve liked him from the beginning, he is charming and a fun guy. Something I liked in particular is that the audience (aka the reader) knows long before he himself realizes it that he is hopelessly in love with her – all his actions show his true intentions eventhough he tries to reason them. Daisy is a lovely protagonist, I just wished she wouldn‘t think in boxes so much (the same about her friends) and just allow herself more to embrace opportunities when they strike. I think throughout their relationship she‘s got more open–minded and braver, so save to say I liked her character development pretty much. Jordan’s past is also a storyline that surprised me in an unexpected but very positive way and I enjoyed how the book deals with that part of the story.

This was so cute ahhhhh. I love the way their connection built up slowly and just naturally. Their energy and chemistry was amazing. Also they are so fcking sweet. The third-Act breakup was very unnecessary, hence the 4 stars and not 5. Now I am so excited for Violet and Gavin.

Who can resist a flirty jock hero with a shy heroine college romance? Definitely not me. Wow. I don’t think there is someone else who can write college romances as good as Rebecca Jenshak does. It was so adorable and entertaining and still so unique! I had all the butterflies everytime Jordan called her „sweet Daisy“. And Daisy was so lovable and cute but had a fiery nature. They both stole my heart!
