I don't think this book is supposed to make you cry, but it does. It is the most touching story of finding yourself and learning how to be more than what people expect of you. To find yourself while you feel like you have to be someone else, like there is no space for you to just exist. Alice is the most amazing main character, a very study obsessed teenager, who feels a lot but most importantly feels like she has to be someone to have the right to exist. That her whole purpose in life is to be what is expected of her. It is a really beautiful story about morals and weighing your morals against your own needs. It's a story about money and influence, society and change, but most importantly how decisions can lead you onto a dark path, but also how friends, family and most importantly yourself in the end, can still get you onto the right path. I would recommend this book to all ages, tho it's ya, i feel like many people might need to read this. It is just an amazing book and i don't think i have ever felt more touched by the end of a book.
