About the book

Alexia Tarabotti is labouring under a great many social tribulations. First, she has no soul. Second, she's a spinster whose father is both Italian and dead. Third, she was rudely attacked by a vampire, breaking all standards of social etiquette.
Where to go from there? From bad to worse apparently, for Alexia accidentally kills the vampire - and then the appalling Lord Maccon (loud, messy, gorgeous, and werewolf) is sent by Queen Victoria to investigate.
With unexpected vampires appearing and expected vampires disappearing, everyone seems to believe Alexia responsible. Can she figure out what is actually happening to London's high society? Or will her soulless ability to negate supernatural powers prove useful or just plain embarrassing? Finally, who is the real enemy, and do they have treacle tart?
SOULLESS is a comedy of manners set in Victorian London: full of werewolves, vampires, dirigibles, and tea-drinking.

Kurzweiliges Buch mit Werwölfen, Vampiren und viel Humor. Ich hatte wirklich meine Freude an der Story und einen guten Start ins Lese Jahr. Please remember Reading is subjective.

Soulless was picked as the book for hour book club but I've been wanting to read it for some time before that. It starts out exciting but sometimes the book got really boring and I have to admit that I didn't understand all the British words. But I loved them anyway. The love story was more fun than the crime story, especially since I've figured out one of the culprits when he was introduced so that definitely took out some of the surprise. Alexia Tarabotti was a strong female character and I enjoyed reading about her. I don't know why it was necessary to mention so often that she's part Italian but oh well.
