    Ich liebe einfach, wie Burton schreibt und wie sie Atmosphäre schafft. Die Welt ist in gesellschaftlicher Hinsicht super ausgearbeitet, politisch und magisch ist noch Luft nach oben. Die Protagonistin macht eine interessante Entwicklung durch, setzt sich hohe Ziele und versucht, diese auf allen möglichen Wegen zu erreichen. Aber vor allem gefiel mir ihr Zusammenspiel mit dem Gegenspieler, da herrscht eine tolle Dynamik. Manche Aspekte fand ich trotzdem unglaubwürdig, wie z.B. nie jemand spekuliert oder gar herausfinden will, wer die Shadow Queen ist. Das Trial um "König" zu werden, fand ich auch eher seitenfüllend als wirklich relevant, aber es hat Spaß gemacht. Es gibt einen kleinen Cliffhanger und ich freu mich auf Band 2.
