One dead Santa. A town full of suspects. Will you discover the truth?

Christmas in Lower Lockwood, and the Fairway Players are busy rehearsing their festive pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk. But there's not much good will among the amateur dramatics enthusiasts. Sarah-Jane is fending off threats to her new position as Chair, the beanstalk might be full of asbestos, and someone is trying to ruin the panto before the curtain even goes up.

Plus, there's the small matter of the dead Santa. Who had the victim on their naughty list? Read the round robins, examine the emails and pore over the police transcripts to discover the truth. Will the show go on?

I loved the style (you just get to read bits and pieces of conversation between the people involved in the mystery) but the final reveal of what happened lacked excitement. It was a fun and quick read but I wouldn't pick it up again.

I’m not saying this was bad. But I feel like target audience simply wasn’t me but rather women above the age of 50

3.5 ⭐️ „All’s well that ends well.” A cute Christmas mystery! This mystery was something different because the readers themselves have to solve the case by getting pieces of information in form of e-mails, chats and newspaper articles instead of reading one continuous text. In the end of every “chapter”, there was a little summary and an interpretation of the given hints and clues, which I did enjoy! Because of that, the readers can compare their theories with those of the inspectors. Nevertheless, the first 50 pages were kind of confusing because you get introduced to SO many characters who you have to memorize and connect to another. After those 50 pages, it became easier to remember each character so I did enjoy the book a lot more. Merely the solution of the mystery was a bit boring and dull. I expected a bit more. Therefore: 3.5 ⭐️ (It was a good Christmas mystery book to read on the side.)
