This truly surprised me in a really good way! I've never read anything by Lisa Williamson before and I picked this on a whim, without any expectations. All I wanted was a fun, light-hearted story - and that's exactly what I got. In my opinion, this is one of those books that are perfect if you're just beginning to be in a reading slump - you're flying through it, forgetting everything around you, but at the same time, it's not complicated or dense either. Also, I loved how Lisa Williamson managed to characterize Mia very implicitly. Her characterization is a great example of the 'showing, not telling' method, and it's exceptionally well done. While I didn't like Mia very much in the beginning, I started to understand her better as the story progressed. I saw how she was treated by others and that her behavior was really just a response to that - a scream for attention, if you will. Altogether, the story was very realistic - not overdramatic and just with the right amount of twists and turns. I would recommend it to anyone who craves a fun, light-hearted story!
