Alien-Horror mit Fokus auf Atmosphäre

Adam Nevill ist ein Autor, der es wie kaum ein anderer versteht eine Atmosphäre zu erschaffen, die einen förmlich in seine Bücher reinzieht. All the Fiends of Hell handelt grob gesagt von einer Alien-Invasion, in der der Hauptcharakter Karl im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes in einem Alptraum erwacht. Krank, allein und ahnungslos ist er gezwungen einen Weg zu finden zu Überleben. Auf diesem Weg trifft er Menschen, die seine Hilfe brauchen, aber auch Menschen die eine zusätzliche Gefahr darstellen. Das Buch legt wie alle Bücher von Nevill einen großen Fokus auf die Atmosphäre und die Beschreibung der Umgebung in der die Handlung stattfindet. Wer Slow Burn mag und sich lieber von einer Geschichte treiben lässt, wird hier voll auf seine Kosten kommen. Wer Action und einen wilden Plot sucht, sollte sich lieber einen anderen Autor suchen. Leider werden von Adam Nevill kaum Bücher auf Deutsch übersetzt. Sein Schreibstil kann selbst für Leute mit guten Englisch-Kenntnissen schwierig sein. Ich habe mich erst an dieses Buch rangetraut, nachdem ich Erfahrungen mit englischen Büchern gesammelt habe. Ich habe keine Sekunde davon bereut, denn so konnte ich All the Fiends of Hell in vollen Zügen genießen und es werden mit Sicherheit noch viele weitere Bücher von ihm folgen.
