About the book

An Instant New York Times Bestseller In a world where witches control the climate and are losing control, only one witch can save earth from destruction. But as her power grows, it hurts those closest to her, and when she falls in love with her training partner she's forced to choose between her power, her love, and saving the earth. For centuries, witches have maintained the climate, but now their control is faltering as the atmosphere becomes more erratic; the storms, more destructive. All hope lies with Clara, a once-in-a-generation Everwitch whose magic is tied to every season. In Autumn, Clara wants nothing to do with her power. It's wild and volatile, and the price of her magic—losing the ones she loves—is too high, despite the need to control the increasingly dangerous weather. In Winter, the world is on the precipice of disaster. Fires burn, storms rage, and Clara accepts that she's the only one who can make a difference. In Spring, she falls for Sang, the witch training her. As her magic grows, so do her feelings, until she's terrified Sang will be the next one she loses. In Summer, Clara must choose between her power and her happiness, her duty and the people she loves...before she loses Sang, her magic, and thrusts the world into chaos. "Perfect for fans of Shea Ernshaw and Taylor Swift's Folklore."—Rosiee Thor, author of Tarnished Are the Stars "A bright, fresh read from a glowing new voice, THE NATURE OF WITCHES is both timely and stirring. Griffin's emotional writing that cuts to the heart will make her a new YA favorite."—Adrienne Young, New York Times bestselling author of Fable "The forces of nature and magic blend perfectly in this masterfully told story… I couldn't love this book more."—Shea Ernshaw, NYT bestselling author of The Wicked Deep and Winterwood

The Nature of Witches is a cute and magical story with an interesting concept that ties witches’ powers to the seasons. I really enjoyed the idea and thought the world-building had potential. The romance was sweet, and the overall vibe of the book gave me cozy, whimsical feels. While it didn’t completely blow me away, it was still a charming read that fans of light, seasonal witchy stories will enjoy.

I really liked it. Liked, how desperation turns to hope. Liked, how nature was such a present theme and draws attention to our own climate crisis. It's beautifully written. I rated 4⭐ because it ennerves me when books seem to have a pattern in the storyline

This is my second book by the author, and I enjoyed it a lot. The writing style is just as beautiful as in “Wild is the Witch”. This book is about Clara, a witch that has a very rare ability: She is an Everwitch. Unlike other witches who can control one season with their magic, she has the ability to control it all, live and feel them all. But she sure doesn’t love it all. While Clara does appreciate parts of every season, she hates nothing more than her magic and is steadfast on making sure, she won’t be able to hurt anyone she loves, ever again. But that all starts to change, once a new teacher arrives and has someone in tow, that will challenge everything Clara has ever believed in. Over the next year we follow Clara through the seasons, watching her train, learn more about her magic and herself. This is a story about loss, self discovery and most of all: Love. It’s a beautiful thing to watch a person learn to love herself and everything she is. The characters feel well developed and the story makes sense. There is a certain trope in it, that I don’t usually enjoy a lot, but in this it felt natural and wasn’t dragged out. It was a short aspect of the book, that was used for the right purpose. Overall another book I will add to my beloved witches collection.
