Vibes wie 2010er Dystopien
Wow, was für eine Überraschung! 🌩️ Storm Breaker erinnert total an die YA Dystopien der 00/10er und als Teenager hätte ich es 100% geliebt, aber auch als Erwachsene mochte ich es total! 😄 Das Buch hat mich sehr oft an Divergent erinnert - aber wirklich im positivsten Sinne und gewisse Plotpoints sind zwar recht voraussehbar, aber trotzdem hatte ich total viel Spaß damit und es hat mich nicht gestört! 🤩 Es hat eigentlich alle Tropes bedient die ich total gerne lese, ich werd sie aber aus Spoiler Gründen nicht auflisten. 🫢 Das Worldbuilding fand ich sehr cool, auch wenn da in Band 2 noch mehr dazu kommen wird. Einige Dinge und Funktionen sind bisher nämlich noch nicht ganz richtig erklärt worden. Aber wie die Welt vom Klimawandel gezeichnet ist hat mich auf jeden Fall überzeugt und ein Venedig-Artiges New York? Oh Yes! 🏙️ Poet als Protagonistin mochte ich auch, weil ich sie als sehr realistisch empfunden habe. Ich fand es auch sehr cool, dass Poet mal nicht die Prota aus Armen Verhältnissen ist, sondern in einer hohen Position. Manche Leser empfanden Poets Gedanken wohl als zu repetitiv. Für mich haben sie jedoch gut zu ihrer Situation gepasst, denn ihr gesamtes Leben wird innerhalb kurzer Zeit aufs extremste auf den Kopf gestellt, weshalb ihre Zweifel und ihre Unsicherheit nachvollziehbar waren. Ich hätte es sogar unrealistischer gefunden, wenn sie diese Entwicklung ohne größere innere Konflikte durchlaufen hätte. Das einzige das ich am Buch seltsam fand, ist dass Poet am Anfang von ihrer Bekanntengruppe und vor allem Knox so respektlos behandelt wurde teilweise. Bei ihrer hohen Stellung in der Society hätte ich es anders gedacht. Aber das ist nur ein kleiner Punkt der für mich unstimmig war. Denkt daran, dass es ein Jugendbuch ist, wenn ihr euch dafür interessiert. 😌 Wer nicht gerne YA liest, für den ist das Buch sicher nichts. Für alle anderen: Gebt dem Buch ne Chance, es ist wirklich gut😍

She did it again. I absolutely loved the Trial of the Sun Queen series, so I was incredibly excited to dive into Storm Breaker - and I ended up loving it just as much. The worldbuilding was fantastic, the writing was captivating, and I really enjoyed being introduced to the world of the Storm Breakers alongside the characters. The cast was engaging and easy to connect with, making the story even more enjoyable. My only small disappointment was that the promised deadly trials weren’t quite as intense as I had hoped they would be. I expected a little more from that aspect of the story. But overall? This book was amazing. It kept me hooked from beginning to end, and I can easily see it becoming one of my favorite reads of the year.
