2.0Eigentlich stand das Buch „Motherhood“ von Sheila Heti auf meiner Wunschliste, aber als ich dieses Buch von ihr bei einem Bookswap gesehen habe, musst ich ihm einfach eine Chance geben – leider waren wir kein besonders gutes Match. Im Mittelpunkt des Buches steht Mira, die den Verlust ihres Vaters verarbeitet und gleichzeitig über ihre Beziehung oder eher Nicht-Beziehung mit Annie reflektiert. Der Text ist sehr poetisch und wunderschön geschrieben, aber handlungsarm und gespickt mit kleinen Symbolen und Details, deren Bedeutung sich mir jedoch nicht immer ganz erschlossen hat. Auch wenn es Stellen gab, die mich beeindruck und nachhaltig beschäftigt haben – z. B. über Freundschaft vor und nach dem Smartphone – waren mir insgesamt viele Gedankengänge zu weit hergeholt und zu abgehoben.
