Clocks and mechanics. A love-story between a human and a spirit. What could possibly ruin that pontential? Apparently a lot. To be honest, nothing in this book worked for me. The non discernible plot moves at a glacial pace, the romance is just so boring, it has zero charme, the main character is exhausting with all his childish moods, tantrums, fainting and idiocy. It seems like the author only wanted to write the kissing-scenes and everything else exists only to make it look like a proper book that could be sold. Save your precious time and don't be fooled by the pretty cover. This story is a waste of time.
I absolutely loved the theme of Victorian steampunk London, it's such a unique setting and the mysteries of the clock towers and their secrets had me in awe at the cleverness of the entire thing. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time and I quickly became emotionally invested in the characters and the book had me in tears by the end. A truly wonderful love story. To the boy and his tower, thank you.
