Außergewöhnliches Setting, wie immer tolle Figuren und eine sehr coole Story!
Ich lese nach und nach alles was ich von Jennifer Lynn Barnes in die Finger bekommen kann und dieses Buch war wieder einmal toll. Das Setting des Nationalparks, wo ich mir einzelne Teile wie den Grand Canyon vorgestellt habe, hat mir sehr gefallen und bisher habe ich auch nichts in der Art gelesen. Die Charaktere waren wieder sehr individuell und innovativ für mich. Nur bei der Protagonistin habe ich einige Züge gefunden, die mir von den Protagonistinnen aus The Naturals und Inheritance Games bekannt vorkamen. Aber da ich diese Charaktere sehr mochte, hat mich das wirklich nicht gestört. Ich habe zwischenzeitlich herzhaft geweint und vor allem die tierischen Protagonisten sind mir maximal ans Herz gewachsen. Es gab auch in diesem Buch wieder Plottwists, die für mich größtenteils inhaltlich überraschend waren, aber nicht ganz so überraschend kamen. Da es mein zehntes Buch der Autorin ist, ist es für mich aber in Ordnung, dass man mittlerweile ein Gefühl für die Struktur der Geschichte hat. Am besten Gefallen hat mir dir Idee der Geschichte an sich. Mal ganz davon abgesehen, dass ich Hunde liebe, ein Buch über Suchhunde und Rettungseinsätze? Ja bitte, unbedingt! Das Englisch war für mich gut verständlich und ich bin echt schnell durch das Buch geflogen. Für alle Freunde von Mysteries, True Crime und einfach tollen Geschichten etwas abseits vom Mainstream und natürlich Fans von Jennifer Lynn Barnes, probiert es gerne aus. Ich bin ziemlich sicher es lohnt sich, mich hat es überzeugt 🫶🏻

Anfangs war ich noch skeptisch und mochte das Buch nur so halb. Aber es wurde immer besser. Bei Kira, der Hauptprotagonistin, war das genauso, anfangs konnte ich sie nicht so leiden, gegen Ende war sie okay als Hauptprotagonistin. Ich fande das Buch meistens spannend und interessant. Das Ende mochte ich eigentlich. Was ich noch toll gefunden hätte, wären Antworten auf die noch offenen Fragen. Trotzdem kann ich das Buch weiterempfehlen.
