Als die junge Frau dann herausfindet, dass sie selbst ein Wesen zwischen Schatten und Licht ist und über große Kräfte verfügt, muss sie sich entscheiden: zwischen Gut und Böse, zwischen Loyalität und Liebe ... Ich habe die Reihe 2022 schon geliebt und jetzt beim reread hat sich das nicht geändert,sie braucht viel mehr Aufmerksamkeit.

Clockwork Angel is the first of three books in the Infernal Devices Trilogy by Cassandra Clare. Chronologically it is the first series (to date) in the shadowhunter universe, being set in 1878. Regarding publishing order I believe it is her 2nd series. We follow Tessa, a young American, traveling to London to reunite with her brother. Being thrown into the shadow world unexpectedly she tries to navigate her way through it alongside the young shadowhunters Will and Jem, all the while hoping to understanding her role in everything. As this was a re-read for me I was curious to see how I would feel about this book compared to 16 yo me. I was immediately intrigued by the smooth storytelling, fast pacing and more mature setting compared to the Mortal Instrument (TMI) series. Tessa is a very relatable heroine. Beyond that we get to meet so many intriguing characters, some of them familiar from TMI. I especially loved all inhabitants of the London institute & their found family aspect. Plot wise, Cassandra was definitely not joking around and we get a lot of exciting scenes and some very nice (albeit slightly predictable) plot twists. Overall, I couldn‘t put the book down and cannot wait to continue the re-read!
