About the book
Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany (1878-1957) was an Anglo-Irish writer and dramatist, notable for his fantasy work published under the name Lord Dunsany. His works include hundreds of published short stories, as well as successful plays, novels, and essays. Dunsany later realized that Algernon Charles Swinburne's line "Time and the Gods are at strife" in his 1866 poem "Hymn to Proserpine," unconsciously influenced the title of his collection of classic fantasy short stories, "Time and the Gods." This volume is a facsimile reprint of the original John W. Luce & Company edition, complete with the S.H. Sime interior illustrations and decorations.
