This summer, things are about to heat up.

Ach menno! Ich hatte richtig Lust auf dieses Buch, denn es klang nach dem perfekten Urlaubsbuch: Datingshow, Sommerfeeling, sapphic. Und all das gab es auch und trotzdem konnte mich das Buch nicht ganz überzeugen. Es zieht sich über fast 400 Seiten und die Handlung ist sehr slow. Ich hätte innerhalb des Datingformats ein bisschen mehr Trash zur Unterhaltung erwartet, aber es lief alles recht smooth unter den Kandidat*innen. Lediglich ein Charakter sorgte für Aufregung und dieser schied (zurecht) frühzeitig aus. Natürlich gab es am Ende einen Konflikt, der aber auch relativ leicht wieder aus der Welt geschaffen wurde und dafür war mir das Buch dann einfach zu lang. Die Story hätte man auch auf 300 Seiten erzählen können. Ein weiterer Punkt, der mich ein wenig gestört hat, war die mangelnde Diversität bzgl. der Körperformen bei den Teilnehmenden der Datingshow.
