Die Story ist außergewöhnlich. Manchmal hätte ich Adelaide schütteln können. Nicht immer ist ihr Verhalten nachvollziehbar. Trotz allem habe ich die Story einfach nur geliebt.

Ich habe das Buch durch Zufall entdeckt. Mich hat Vorallem der Titel sehr angesprochen.
Die Story ist außergewöhnlich. Manchmal hätte ich Adelaide schütteln können. Nicht immer ist ihr Verhalten nachvollziehbar. Trotz allem habe ich die Story einfach nur geliebt.

Es erzählt die Geschichte von Adelaide, die in London versucht, ihr Leben – Studium, Job und Beziehung – unter einen Hut zu bekommen. Dabei verliert sie sich fast selbst und kämpft mit Erwartungen, alten Traumata und ihrem Selbstwert.
Was mir besonders gefallen hat:
• Echte Emotionen: Du spürst jede Unsicherheit und jeden Zweifel, als würdest du direkt in Adelaides Kopf schauen.
• Vielschichtige Perspektiven: Die Einblicke in Rorys Gedanken machen ihre Beziehung spannend und ambivalent.
• Tiefer psychologischer Tiefgang: Wheeler thematisiert psychische Gesundheit und Trauma sehr einfühlsam, ohne in Selbstmitleid zu versinken.
Die Sprache ist dabei poetisch und lässt manche Passagen noch lange nachklingen. Ich bin mir sicher, dass du dich für emotionale Geschichten mit psychologischem Tiefgang begeistern kannst – dieses Debüt bietet genau das.

… ich habe gerade ein Buch gelesen, das ich dir unbedingt ans Herz legen möchte: Jedes Herz ist ein Puzzle aus Scherben von Genevieve Wheeler. Es erzählt die Geschichte von Adelaide, die in London versucht, ihr Leben – Studium, Job und Beziehung – unter einen Hut zu bekommen. Dabei verliert sie sich fast selbst und kämpft mit Erwartungen, alten Traumata und ihrem Selbstwert.
Was mir besonders gefallen hat:
• Echte Emotionen: Du spürst jede Unsicherheit und jeden Zweifel, als würdest du direkt in Adelaides Kopf schauen.
• Vielschichtige Perspektiven: Die Einblicke in Rorys Gedanken machen ihre Beziehung spannend und ambivalent.

However, the friendships drawn here between Adelaide and the girls in her life.. so beautiful, raw and real.
It really gave me a little throwback to my uni years, good and bad, and touched me.

Not getting tired to say that every book is never for everybody. So when I read some critical reviews, I still got the book and read it - and liked it!
Not liked as in “cute story” (it is not), but as in ‘relatable’.
Adelaide having this strong tendency to please people, or rather, the wish to comfort people (maybe because she wished that for herself)
