Description

A queer, transgender retelling of Peter Pan in which Pan returns to Neverland after a decade in the real world. The Lost Boys say that Peter Pan went back to England because of Wendy Darling, but Wendy is just an old life he left behind. Neverland is his real home. So when Peter returns to it after ten years in the real world, he's surprised to find a Neverland that no longer seems to need him.The only person who truly missed Peter is Captain James Hook, who is delighted to have his old rival back. But when a new war ignites between the Lost Boys and Hook's pirates, the ensuing bloodshed becomes all too real - and Peter's rivalry with Hook starts to blur into something far more complicated, sensual, and deadly.

In the beginning I thought it was a bit fast pasted, but I loved this book. I liked how it was like this adventure in Neverland and at the same time it felt like growing up and facing reality, but still being yourself and being accepted. And well.... I just love gay stuff.😏

In the beginning I kind of hated it but then I spent the rest of the book bawling my eyes out sooo I love this violent, dark and very queer take on Peter Pan and the themes it dealt with.

Dieses Buch hat mich extrem positiv überrascht,

insbesondere was das den Twist von Neverland und Peters Fluchtmotive angeht. Ausführlichere Rezension folgt.

CN: deadnaming, misgendering, transmisia, violence That was a really interesting take on Peter Pan. I didn't like the trans rep as much as the one in Coffee Boy, but it was still a great book with a very cute ending.

This was so good, but could’ve been even better. There are lots of enjoyable aspects and tropes that could’ve been expanded on, but sadly felt kind of rushed at times. Especially in the last third. It just feels like the characters make so many quick turns in judgement. I would’ve preferred a bit more slow burn with character development through other ways than sudden realizations. Otherwise it is still an enjoyable read with some interesting twists to Neverland itself, too.

I need approximately 50,000 more words of this because I love it and I feel like I've never cried in happiness and sadness more all at the same time.

Oh my god, that was the sweetest thing ever! Peter Pan has always been my favorite childhood story and reading about Neverland, pirates and the lost boys makes me so happy :)
