Gerade zu Ende gelesen und emotional sehr aufgewühlt… Zu 100% mein Jahreshighlight bzw. generell eines der besten Bücher, die ich gelesen habe. Ich liebe alles daran so sehr und dann noch der Cliffhanger 😭 Wie soll ich es bis zur Veröffentlichung von Band 2 schaffen? Die Charaktere sind großartig, die Welt atemberaubend und die Story hat so viel zu bieten. ICH LIEBS 🌸🌸🌸

Mein erstes Buch vom Autoren Duo Ilona Andrews und das konnte mich total überzeugen! Es handelt sich um eine Portal Fantasy bei der die Protagonistin in einer anderen Welt aufwacht. Aber nicht irgendeiner Welt, sondern in der Welt ihres Lieblings Buches. 📖 Da Maggie die Bücher sehr oft gelesen hat und ein kleiner Nerd über diese Welt ist kennt sie die Welt und ihre Charaktere natürlich sehr gut. Man muss damit klar kommen, dass Maggie wie ein allwissender Erzähler zu jedem Charakter und Ort alles sagen kann und es vor allem in den ersten 2 von 4 Teilen viel info dump gibt 🙈 das hatte ich bei der Prämisse des Buches aber erwartet und mich hat es nicht so gestört. Die Welt ist komplex! Das Worldbuilding ist durchdacht und hat erfrischende neue Fabelwesen. Es ist auch recht düster und stellenweise brutal, aber gleichzeitig durch Maggies Gedanken witzig. Es gibt hier und da Erwähnungen an unsere heutige Popkultur, was nur logisch und authentisch ist, weil wir ja in ihrem Kopf sind (das Buch ist in 1st Person geschrieben). 😄 Maggie mag ich sehr, sie ist klug und nimmt Probleme selbst in die Hand und kann sich gut durch heikle Situationen manövrieren. 🥰 Die Nebenfiguren mochte ich auch alle sehr und der romance subplot war zum Glück ein richtiger Slow burn! 🔥 Geschrieben ist es toll! Ich fand es sehr addictive und wollte die ganze Zeit weiterlesen - zu keinem Zeitpunkt fand ich es uninteressant, sondern ich war sehr investiert! 🤩 Ich kann das Buch auf jeden Fall empfehlen, wenn man Portal Fantasy/Isekais mag! Das Ende lässt viel Raum für Theorien und ich werd mich wohl jetzt in Fan Foren rumtreiben - wie es Maggie für ihr Buch getan hat 😂
