About the book

"Little Men: Life at Plumfield With Jo's Boys" is a heartwarming sequel to the beloved classic "Little Women," continuing the journey of the spirited Jo March. Now married to Professor Bhaer, Jo has transformed her inheritance, the Plumfield estate, into a progressive school for boys. The narrative follows the daily lives, mischief, and personal growth of the students-including the orphaned Nat and the boisterous Dan-under the nurturing and unconventional guidance of the Bhaers.Through a series of charming vignettes, Louisa May Alcott explores themes of education, empathy, and the importance of individual character. Jo's maternal influence and the Professor's wisdom create a unique environment where academic learning is balanced with practical life skills and moral integrity. As the boys navigate the trials of youth, they learn valuable lessons about honesty, hard work, and the power of a supportive community. This enduring work remains a staple of American literature, celebrated for its vivid characterizations and its compassionate look at the complexities of childhood. "Little Men" offers readers a nostalgic yet profound exploration of family life and the transformative power of love and education, making it a timeless addition to any library of classic fiction. This work has been selected by scholars as being culturally important, and is part of the knowledge base of civilization as we know it. Welcome to Plumfield. Meet the pubils, the children and Mr and Mrs Bhaer. The German Professor and our dear Jo opened a school for boys, but even some girls lived there. Meet one of the Hummels, a german woman - we remember our dear Beth just helped the family (in little women). Say hello to Teddy Laurence and wife Amy, the old Mr Laurie, Meg and husband John Brooke, father and mother March. It was just like meeting old friends. and I cried a lot while reading. The story itself started with the entry of Nat. He was sended by Mr Laurence. It is about the boys, not just the adults - which I missed sometimes. but to read how Jo made was beautiful. In Little Women she was such a wild kid. she truely loved her sisters and Teddy but her mind was totally free and full of thoughts and stories. She loved to write. Remember how she got-to-know her Future husband. It is not the same and you should realise that there isn't the magic like it was with the old Laurence and Beth but it has something special inside. Anyway, it was my third Louisa May Alcott book (little women -with good wives in one; an old-fashined girl abd now little men) and I need to say that I really like her writing. Even I think that Little women will always be my favorite from her, the others are pretty, too lovely.
