About the book

Marriage can be as fragile as glass - it looks solid, but sometimes the slightest thing can break it...Glass-sculptor Claire understands the fragility of things more than anyone. One year ago she overheated in her studio and fainted, causing the premature birth of her son. Since then, she's given up work, and devoted herself to her husband and children. But then Lock Dixon begs her to provide a glass sculpture for a charity gala night. Claire knows that her family should come first, but overwhelmed by the guilt she feels about his wife's horrific accident, and unable to ignore the chemistry building between herself and Lock, she just can't say no. Her decision will call her marriage, her friendships and all her loves - past and present -into question. And as her emotions are pushed to the limit, Claire will be left wondering if her life can ever be pieced back together?

Another book I didn't like. I just looked at the picture and checked this out from the library from a display about "Summer Reads." I didn't read the book description first! The picture seems to show two happy lovers spending fun time on the beach. I thought "affair" meant their relationship was short, and lasted only for the summer. THE BOOK COVER LIES!!! This book has nothing to do with fun beach frolicking. This is about a woman cheating on her husband with a married man. There is NOTHING fun and summery about this book at all. They have sex in his office. They are having an affair why, would they go out to the beach and frolic? (Yes I skipped many, many pages of this stupid book. If I missed the part where the two people who everyone in town knows go out and show themselves to the town by kissing in public on the beach, I am sorry!!!!!) They start having the affair early in the book, leaving you to wonder is the whole rest of this book just going to be cheating and sneaking around, for the whole book? The only thing that interested me is "Will she leave her husband?" There was no passion to these too people meeting. No desire, or seduction or anything interesting. Nothing more than, he gives her a glass of wine. She describes him as fat and balding while saying several times my husband is more attractive and has tight muscular abs. So why is she cheating? She has several kids with her husband, and a new baby. So in conclusion, don't waste time reading this book for the cover, and also don't waste time wondering "what about her and her husband?" I skipped to the end, and the way it wraps up with him made me glad I didn't waste much of my time with this. They just go on living another day like it didn't even happen.
